Developed social media strategy for innovative online education startup. Worked with tech team to redesign company blog and authored posts. Personal blog (2006 – present)
Focus on electronic music history and production. Created a diagram of songs sampling Michael Jackson that has been viewed over 110,000 times, and has appeared on the MTV and VH1 blogs, MSNBC’s Clicked, Rachel Maddow’s Map Room and on Michael Jackson’s official site. Was featured as a panelist by the Copyright Society of America on remixes, mashups and fan fiction.
Cold Technology, Hot Beats (2007 – present)
Mass-market non-fiction book proposal on history, social impact and technical aspects of electronic music and sampling culture. Represented by Molly Lyons, Delbourgo & Associates.
Government and nonprofits
Computer Resource Center program (1997 – 2001)
Was a founding employee and eventually director of an initiative by City of New York/Parks & Recreation to open public-access computer labs in all five boroughs of New York City. Oversaw setup, staffing, technical support and activity schedules. Designed and taught classes on web and graphic design, job skills, and afterschool programs for children.
American Museum Of The Moving Image (2001 – 2004)
As a museum educator, led tours and gave demonstrations of video and film editing, sound design, animation and other technical aspects of film and television production. Developed and presented a historical overview of the moving image and its cultural impact to school groups.
Music
