On a slightly more cosmic scale, the Rose Center at the AMNH in New York has a <a href="http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/permanent/rose/pathway.html" rel="nofollow">spiraling ramp</a> that takes you through the 13 billion years since the Big Bang. The ramp is several hundred feet long, and human history is a hair's breadth. This is pretty awesome.
