The web sites I admire, and that I use most often, tend
to be functional and low-frills: Craigslist,
Google, Memepool.
I like pages to load fast, to not crash my computer, and
to present their content with minimal clutter or eyestrain.
I don't like animation, sound, unnecessary image maps
and mouseovers - they make life difficult over slower
connections. Instead, I like to use a few well-chosen
images, a good color scheme, and spare, well-written text
to get the point across.
