A group of schoolkids in Kanazawa's samurai quarter. Yes, that's right, a whole neighborhood full of samurai, how cool is that? Actually, now it seems to be inhabited by wealthy businesspeople, but the buildings and streets are much as they were back in the day. Note the tastefully weathered wabi-sabi garage doors on the right. Note also the rain-slicked stones; I've never been anywhere so rainy as Japan in June, and that includes England and Seattle.
