Candida Haynes' brilliant and iconoclastic VOCE project is built around her digitally looped and layered vocals. She uses her voice as an instrument to build fantastically abstract soundscapes, with a strong soul and blues underpinning. I back her up on everything from baritone guitar to harmonica to banjo to samples. Candida and I have collaborated on some theater music.
